Hope House –
We're almost open!
Recently, we celebrated the opening of our first property in Wolfeboro, NH, Hope House. To view the photo album from the open house celebration click here.

The Hope House, the only short-term emergency family housing in Carroll County, provides a temporary, safe, and secure place for homeless families in the Governor Wentworth Regional School District.

As we continue to grow to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness, financial support remains one of the greatest benefits to helping accomplish our goals. Visit www.fitnh.org/donate to contribute. Volunteering is another key factor in us being able to support our participants housing. If you're interested in volunteering at Hope House, please email usWe are still in need of hiring Program Aides and once we’re fully staffed, our doors will be open.

The 3rd floor of the MRTC is almost finished!

Manchester Recovery and Treatment Center, MRTC – Growth and updates
We purchased and are redeveloping the second and third floors of the Manchester Recovery and Treatment Center, 293 Wilson St., in Manchester, to expand our Willows Substance Use Treatment Center, Transitional Living Programs, and Recovery Housing. The second floor will house our Willows Substance Use Treatment Center which provides Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Services to women, and soon to serve men, as well as 11 one-bedroom recovery housing apartments for mothers and their children. The third floor, which is slated to be finished at the end of this month, will have eight double occupancy units of Transitional Living Program and Recovery Housing for single women.

Hollows Community Garden
and Learning Center –
Current needs
Our Hollows Community Garden, located at 401 Spruce St., Manchester, will improve the quality of life and help homeless individuals break the cycle of homelessness by providing immediate hunger relief and educational experiences that develop the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to cultivate self-sufficiency and lifelong healthy behaviors. This project will reduce this area’s high level of food insecurity, provide critical education and resources for sustainable food access, and aid in the transition from homelessness.

If you are interested in volunteering at the garden please email volunteer@fitnh.org or call 603.641.9441 ext. 357.

OutFITters Boutique Will Be Sold

We’ve recently accepted an offer that we could not refuse, from property developer Steve Duprey, to purchase our 20 S. Main Street/OutFITters Thrift Store Boutique building in Concord.

As you may know, the purpose of our OutFITters Thrift Stores is to be an income source for Families in Transition-New Horizons (FIT-NH) in order to help defray the costs of the housing and services the agency provides to families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Unfortunately, our store sales dropped drastically at the start of the recent, two-year, reconstruction of downtown Concord and have never rebounded back to be self-sufficient. This, along with ever-increasing growth of online market places and the strong economy, thrift stores across the country are feeling the pinch.

That being said, we are very proud of our entrepreneurial spirit and our ability to establish OutFITters Thrift Store Boutique in 2009. We started by selling only women’s clothing in our humble 200 square-foot space in Bicentennial Square and expanded to selling clothing, furniture, housewares, books, and more  after purchasing 20 S. Main Street, all because of the demand of the community. It is because of you, our supporters and volunteers, and our dedicated staff that we had a great run at the store! It was a success that did help to provide housing and services to those most in need in our community.

Mark your calendars to attend our blowout sale in Concord, Monday, July 16 – Saturday, July 28, while supplies last. All gift certificates, coupons, vouchers, and loyalty cards issued in Concord are good to use at our OutFITters store in Manchester at 394 Second Street.

Now more than ever, we need your continued support of our Manchester store so it can continue to support the mission of FIT-NH.

Thank you, from all of us at OutFITters and Families in Transition-New Horizons, for nearly 10 great years in downtown Concord!

Help our families get ready for back to school

With the fall quickly approaching, our families are realizing back to school is right around the corner. It is time to start thinking about ways to prepare our families for this very busy, and often very expensive, time of year. This means ensuring they have access to all the items on their school supply list provided by their schools, haircuts, clothes and shoes that fit, and much more. We are looking to our community to help us get our families ready to have a successful school year. If you are interested in helping out, please contact our Resource Development Office at donate@fitnh.org or 603.641.9441 ext. 350 for more information.
