New projects under development
Manchester Recovery and Treatment Center construction in April of 2018.

The Manchester Recovery and Treatment Center (MRTC) will serve as a one-stop-shop for individuals in recovery and/or with mental illness to find the support they need. The building at 267 Wilson Street in Manchester includes: HOPE for New Hampshire Recovery; Catholic Medical Center Health Clinic; our Willows Substance Use Treatment Center, recovery housing and transitional living programs; and the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester.

With all these service providers under one roof, individuals will be able to access peer support for long-term recovery, recovery coaching and pathways, intensive outpatient programs, outpatient services, transitional living programs, access to Catholic Medical Center services, assessment, connection, information, and intervention.

The project is expected to be completed in early fall of this year. Follow along with the progress on our Facebook page and our website.

Hollows Community Garden and Learning Center

Our Hollows Community Garden and Learning Center, located at 401 Spruce Street in Manchester, will improve the quality of life and help homeless individuals break the cycle of homelessness by delivering immediate hunger relief and providing educational experiences that develop the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to cultivate self-sufficiency and lifelong healthy behaviors. This project will reduce this area’s high level of food insecurity, provide critical education and resources for sustainable food access, and aid in the transition from homelessness.

On Thursday, May 10, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the Hollows Community Garden and Learning Center. Click here to see the photo album from our day of planting with Timberland and our celebration. If you are interested in volunteering at the garden please email volunteer@fitnh.org or call 603.641.9441 ext. 357.

Hope House in Wolfeboro, NH

Our Hope House, in Wolfeboro, is the first short-term emergency housing option of its kind in the Governor Wentworth Regional School District, offering housing and services to families in need. Starting in early summer, the Hope House will offer shelter and services to seven families at a time, totaling an anticipated 43 parents and 84 children per year. We will provide 24/7 on-site staff to address specific needs for each family, such as transportation, case management, meals and employment training. The average length of stay will be 60 days until the family transitions to more permanent housing.

For more information on this project click here.

Construction on the Hope House is projected to finish in June. We will be celebrating the open house of Hope House on Tuesday, June 26. Please click here for event details.

Help our kids get ready for summer vacation
Often when we think of summer vacation, we think about all the great memories we have as a child. For many here in our housing, this is not the case. Our staff is working on preparing our families for the summer break from school. This means ensuring they have access to healthy food and snacks (which they would have otherwise received at school), providing sunscreen that can often be an expense parents are unable afford, and creating opportunities for these families to get out together and do something fun that they might not have done without the support of our staff.

Would you help support our summer vacation initiatives? We are looking to our community to help our families by providing access to items such as, healthy snacks/food, sunscreen, summer appropriate PJs, admission tickets to local attractions, and more.

To see a full list of current needs to get our families ready for summer, click here. For additional information please contact our office at donate@fitnh.org or by calling us at 603.641.9441 ext. 324.
