Meet Jessie Events Holiday Giving Opportunities Our New Retail Manager Volunteer We're Merging! Now Hiring

 Participant Spotlight: Meet Jessie
“We talk about my goals. I need that assurance and redirection. And, I can take that encouragement with me anywhere—I can take FIT with me anywhere,” says Jessie.

This year, in our End of the  Year Appeal, you’ll meet Jessie*, a single mother and Families in Transition (FIT) participant.

From a young age, the only constant in Jessie’s life has been change. “I’ve been in and out (of housing) my whole life. My Mom would work a few days a week, but money and food was always tight,” said Jessie.

When she became pregnant, Jessie knew her living situation was unsafe for a newborn and she needed to make a change to prepare for the future of her child. She applied for FIT housing and was soon granted her own apartment to establish a safe home for herself and her daughter.

Through the support of our program, Jessie was able to get a job in healthcare while her daughter is attending preschool. She meets with her FIT Housing Advocate every other week to discuss steps for her future.

Donate today to help make a brighter future for people like Jessie and her daughter.

*Jessie’s story is true. To protect her privacy, her name has been changed.

As many of you can imagine, the holidays can be a very difficult time of year for our participants and their families.

We are looking to our community to help us get ready for the holidays by collecting items off of our “Holiday Giving Opportunities.” Items include gift certificates, brand new winter gear for the children, brand new home essential items for when families move in, and much more.

In addition to donating items, you can help us provide housing and services to homeless families and individuals by shopping at this holiday season. For every purchase you make, Amazon will donate to FIT.

You can find more information by clicking here or if you would like to speak to someone on our team, please contact us at or by calling us at 603.641.9441 ext. 327.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers at work
Whether you come with a friend, coworker, or family member, volunteering with Families in Transition is a great way to support our mission and help us provide the housing and services our families need to get back on their feet again.

Here are just a few ways you can help:

  • Do you enjoy cooking and building community through meal sharing? We’re looking for individuals and groups to provide a home-cooked meal weekly, monthly or quarterly in one of FIT locations in Manchester, Concord and Dover.
  • Become a Welcome Ambassador at the Family Place Resource Center and Shelter! This is a key  role that not only assists the staff in the building but all those who utilize the different programs offered, from our preschool students and shelter participants to the CMC clinic staff and patients.
  • Help to keep our OutFITters stores shinning! We’re seeking groups to come in periodically to help us with deep cleaning and organizing. 100% of the proceeds from OutFITters goes to funding Families in Transition’s housing and services.
