Our Donors Make a BIG Impact

Thank you for all that you did and continue to do to support our mission of making a difference in the lives of those most in need in New Hampshire.

Because of our many generous donors, including those reading this email, we raised over $120,000 through our End of Year Appeal, exceeding our goal.

This amount of money could enable us to:

  • Provide 120 families one month of housing
  • Feed over 40 families three meals a day for a year
  • Provide six months of social services for 100 individuals or families
  • Purchase over 3,465 high need items, such as home essentials, baby food and diapers, and personal hygiene products for our families

Every year we continue to be amazed as you prove to us the commitment you have made to our agency. Because of you, families and individuals are safe, lives are changing, and hope is being restored. Your gift has an impact that will last longer than you think. It may very well be the start of a new beginning for someone.
From all of us at Families in Transition-New Horizons, thank you!

A Gift of Stock Supports Us and Benefits You

Did you know Families in Transition-New Horizons accepts donations of stocks?

Donating your stock or other securities will support the mission of Families in Transition-New Horizons while providing you with potential tax benefits. Stocks or other investments that have grown in value and that you have held for more than one year can become a substantial gift made at a low net cost to you. Plus, you will receive a charitable deduction and avoid federal capital gains tax that would otherwise be due on a sale of the assets.

If donating stock or other securities is something you are interested in, or if you would like to learn about more ways to give to Families in Transition-New Horizons, please visit www.fitnh.org/plannedgiving or call us at 603.641.9441 ext. 324 or email donate@fitnh.org.

It's Been an Eventful Month for OutFITters

Our new Retail Manager, Kim Rennell, our team of employees, and volunteers have been hard at work updating our Manchester store so we can fit more clothing, furniture, household items, books, and more on the sales floor. Check out the photo album on our website to get an idea of what the changes in our Manchester store look like and stop in to see for yourself.

We need your help! As we put more items on the sales floor, our donation center is getting depleted. Find a list of items we accept as donations here and donate your gently-used items with us! 100% of the profits from the sale of these items goes towards providing a home and hope to homeless families and individuals.

Plus, we’re happy to announce that our Assistant Store Manager, Carmen Croteau, was named Families in Transition’s Employee of the Year for 2017!

Visit the Manchester store to help us congratulate her on all her hard work.

Volunteer Opportunities

Does your New Year's Resolution include giving back to your community? Whether you come with a friend, coworker, or family member, volunteering with Families in Transition is a great way to stay on track with your goals for 2018! Plus, as part of our volunteer team, you will help our organization provide the housing and services our families need to get back on their feet again.
Here are just a few ways you can achieve your 2018 goals and give back:

  • Eat Healthy: Share your love of cooking with our families! Bring your church, school, or business group and provide a home-cooked meal to families living in our buildings in Manchester.
  • Stay Engaged: Use your career skills to staff our welcome desk at our Family Place Resource Center and Shelter or use your other skills to help support Families in Transition's mission.
