Hope House interior

Hope House – We're open!
The Hope House programming is up and running for families in need of help!

The Hope House, the only short-term emergency family housing in Carroll County, provides a temporary, safe, and secure place for families experiencing homelessness in the Governor Wentworth Regional School District. The Hope House offers temporary housing for seven families at one time, totaling an anticipated 43 parents and 84 children per year.

As we continue to grow to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness, financial support remains one of the greatest benefits to helping accomplish our goals. Visit www.fitnh.org/donate to contribute. Volunteering is another key factor in us being able to support our participants housing. Visit www.fitnh.org/volunteer to learn how to get involved. We are still in need of hiring Program Aides, to view these opportunities click here.

Inside our Recovery Housing at the Manchester Recovery and Treatment Center

Manchester Recovery and Treatment Center, MRTC – Third floor is open and providing recovery housing.
We purchased and are redeveloping the second and third floors of the Manchester Recovery and Treatment Center, 293 Wilson St., in Manchester, to expand our Willows Substance Use Treatment Center and Recovery Housing Programs. The second floor, by the end of September, will house our Willows Substance Use Treatment Center, which provides Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Services to women and men, as well as 11 one-bedroom recovery housing apartments for mothers and their children. The third floor, which recently opened, provides Transitional Living Programming/Recovery Housing to up to 25 women.

Vegetables ready for harvest at the Hollows Community Garden and Learning Center

Hollows Community Garden
and Learning Center – Update
The goal of our Hollows Community Garden, located at 401 Spruce St., Manchester, is to improve the quality of life and help homeless individuals break the cycle of homelessness by providing immediate hunger relief and educational experiences that develop the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to cultivate self-sufficiency and lifelong healthy behaviors. This project will reduce this area’s high level of food insecurity, provide critical education and resources for sustainable food access, and aid in the transition from homelessness.

The garden just completed its first growing season. Families have been able to explore, learn, and help harvest fruit and vegetables for healthy meals. Click here to view picture of the garden’s progress.

If you are interested in volunteering at the garden please email volunteer@fitnh.org or call 603.641.9441 ext. 357.

Help Our Families Get Ready for Colder Months

With the fall quickly approaching, winter is not far behind. It is time to start thinking about ways to prepare our families for this cold and often difficult time of year. This means ensuring they have access to healthy food and snacks, and providing warm clothing, like brand new hats, mittens, coats, snow pants, and boots. You can also help by giving our families the opportunity to create memories with one another by providing them with gift cards to do fun activities like the movies, laser tag, bowling, roller-skating, and much more.

Would you help support our winter initiatives? We are looking to our community to help us make the winter months a little brighter this year.

To see a full list of current needs to get our families ready for the winter, please click here. For additional information please contact our office at donate@fitnh.org or by calling us at 603.641.9441 ext. 327.
